My mother retired to Carmel Valley so it was good to see those sights again, but I especially liked seeing Julia Pfeiffer beach where our girls scout summer camp used to go to swim. Haven't seen it in years. Now wish I could go there and paint. I have painted at Pt. Lobos, but it was crowded with tourists. What a wonderful prospect to take 20 days along the coast for painting. It is hard to know ahead of time whether it is better to sketch and move, sketch and move or really work on the same subject over and over. The light keeps changing... the ocean and weather vary....
