On September 11, 2007 I started this blog to document my 20 day painting trip down the coast of California. I began at the northern tip of the California Coast and worked my way down to the southern most point of the state… San Diego. It was a fantastic trip and I was able to visit and paint some beautiful locations… Patrick’s Point, Monterey, Big Sur, Pismo Beach, Laguna Beach, Sunset Beach, Santa Barbara.
Recently I’ve decided to post paintings I’ve done since this trip. They are oil paintings I create on a continuing basis when I make periodic trips back to my favorite and home state of California.

Hi Justin. I just started visiting your daily painting blog a few weeks ago and enjoy seeing your work and other daily painters I have discovered- in fact so much so, I’ve started daily painting myself although I have yet to go public with them. I’m heading to Laguna Beach in October to participate in the Laguna Plein Air Invitational-this will be my third year- so I know a few good spots in that area- would be happy to pass them on to you. Have a great trip and happy painting!
Congrats on the Invitational Deborah. I’d love to hear about your favorite spots in the Laguna area.
Hi Justin – I really like this idea, a journey, paintings and a blog. Your photos of you painting add a nice touch. Thanks for the inspiration.
I found your site as I experimented with wordpress’s new comment search.
Great blog here – all the best
Stephen
